eco-anxiety RELIEF

Climate change is real. And so is eco-anxiety. The American Psychology Association (APA) defines eco-anxiety as “the chronic fear of environmental cataclysm that comes from observing the seemingly irrevocable impact of climate change and the associated concern for one's future and that of next generations”.

While constantly taking action helps us feel like we are having an impact, and it does, it is important that we can maintain that passion long-term. That’s why it is crucial that we do not neglect our physiological wellbeing during our fight against the climate crisis.

Feeling burnt-out or overwhelmed from caring about climate change?

We have compiled a few resources in hopes of empowering you to continue caring about the earth while also taking care of your physcological wellbeing.

 All We Can Save Circles

“Are you hungry for deeper dialogue about the climate crisis and building community around solutions?. Each Circle is a self-organized small group committed to reading All We Can Save together over the course of 10 sessions. The aim is to foster meaningful conversation and allow every voice to be heard. A Circle can be as small as 3-4 people, but 6-10 people is probably the sweet spot.”

Circularity Community

“is a multimedia platform that provides the tools for everyone to challenge environmental injustices and assuage their eco-anxiety.” They offer so many beneficial workshops: Eco-Anxiety and Nature Healing, Community Resilience, Environmental Advocacy are just a few!

Climate Psychiatry Alliance

“educates the profession and the public about the urgent risks of the climate crisis, including its profound impacts on mental health and well-being.” They ”are creating a forum to bring psychiatrists and other mental health professionals together to form a collective voice.”

Good Grief Network

is “a nonprofit organization that brings people together to metabolize collective grief, eco-anxiety, and other heavy emotions that arise in response to daunting planetary crises.

Using a 10-Step approach inspired by the Alcoholics Anonymous model, we run peer-to-peer support groups that help folks recognize, feel, and process their heavy emotions, so that these feelings may be transformed into meaningful action.”

Eco-Anxiety Stories

“is a creative space to explore climate emotions and share about our relationship to the climate crisis. It is a platform, a framework, and a dynamic creative team. The project began as a way to express our own experiences with eco-anxiety, and a way to overcome isolation and burnout as we navigate our role in making change.”
